What is orthopaedics?
Orthopaedics refers to treatment, repair and support of bones and ligaments. This can include pinning, plating and even joint reconstruction. Orthopaedic surgery can include repair of fractures, spinal surgery, ligament repair, setting and repair of broken bones, amputation and more. How is the problem assessed?
We will use a number of different diagnostic tools to determine the best treatment for your pet. In some instances simply reducing inflammation in the body will help your pet live a healthier, more active and pain-free life. For others, surgery may be required. We will advise every step of the way as well as offer after care to ensure a good recovery. Some pets may need long term treatment and care especially after surgeries, but life expectancy and quality of life is usually greatly improved.
